Valve body for repair shops — service page

Valve Body for Repair Shops

Repair shops are one of the buyer types named in company materials, and they inquire differently from wholesalers: usually one valve body or solenoid set for a job in hand, sometimes repeat supply for common jobs. This page is written for that buyer.

The single-job inquiry

A repair shop inquiry usually starts from a vehicle fault, not from a catalogue. The useful form of that inquiry is: the valve body item needed, the solenoid function where relevant, the symptoms and inspection findings already known, the quantity, and the target date for the job. A supplier can answer that inquiry precisely. An inquiry that only names a symptom cannot be answered precisely, because one symptom can sit at a solenoid, a spool valve, a bore, or a gasket.

Repair or replacement for the job in hand

For a single job, the choice between repair and replacement turns on the condition of the existing unit and on timing. Repair recovers the existing valve body through screening, cleaning, sleeve repair where a bore is worn, and bench testing. Replacement starts from a different unit. The repair page and the replacement page compare the two routes; a repair shop should describe the existing unit's condition in the inquiry so that the comparison can be made for that job rather than in general.

Repeat supply for common jobs

A repair shop that sees the same valve body jobs repeatedly may move from single-job inquiries to repeat supply of solenoid valve kits or common valve body items. Repeat supply still follows the same checklist: item, function, quantity, target date, bench testing questions, packaging and warranty. The difference is only that the item and function are already known, so the inquiry becomes shorter rather than different.

After-sales support for workshops

After-sales technical consultation and fault analysis are named in company materials as services around supply. For a workshop, those services matter after fitting, when a question about a fitted unit arises. State in the inquiry whether you expect technical consultation after delivery, so that it is part of the agreed scope rather than an assumption.
