Mechatronic Unit Testing

Mechatronic unit testing applies the general bench test to an integrated unit: because the mechatronic unit combines electronic control with the hydraulic valve body, its test must cover both sides. This page explains how that combined test works.

Why mechatronic testing is a combined test

A mechatronic unit is a DCT integrated electronic valve body. A fault in such a unit can be electronic, hydraulic, or both, and a test that covers only one side will miss the other. Bench testing is therefore described as both electronic and hydraulic testing, and for a mechatronic unit that pairing is the whole test rather than a detail of it.

The four checks, applied to an integrated unit

The four bench-test checks are oil flow, pressure stability, shift response and sealing. Applied to a mechatronic unit, oil flow and sealing test the hydraulic side, pressure stability tests the regulated output the electronics must hold, and shift response tests whether electronic commands become hydraulic action at the right moment. A mechatronic unit that passes the electronic checks but leaks, or holds pressure but responds late, has not passed as a unit.

Testing and screening together

As with valve bodies generally, bench testing follows defect screening: core parts are screened and failed parts removed before testing verifies the result. For a mechatronic unit, screening and testing together are what give the test result its meaning. Ask whether both layers applied to the unit in your order, not only whether a test was run.

What to ask in a mechatronic testing inquiry

  • Whether bench testing covered both the electronic and the hydraulic sides of the unit.
  • Whether it covered oil flow, pressure stability, shift response and sealing by name.
  • Whether the test covered the unit alone or fitted in a wider assembly, and what that distinction means for your order.
  • What packaging and warranty apply. Warranty is at least 1 year.

What to confirm before ordering

This site does not publish a mechatronic unit fitment list. Confirm fitment details before ordering, and describe the integrated unit you need in your own terms.

Share the quantity and your target date. Ask for MOQ and lead time for your order, and confirm packaging and warranty before ordering.
